Reining is an event that is designed to show the ability of a stallion in terms of it`s athletic features. The riders work is to guide the horse through defined patterns within an arena. There are about ten approved reining patterns, and each includes, large fast circles, roll backs, small slow circles, flying lead changes, 360-degree spins and sliding stops that are the seal of a reining stallion. This type of event is compared to dressage in the western world, only that it requires the stallion to be in tune and responsive with the rider and it should be willing to be guided with little or no resistance.
The horse is judged on the ability to perform certain sets of movements completely. The National Reining Horse Association (NHRA) states that "to rein a horse is not only to guide him, but also to control his every movement." Any movement that a stallion does on his own is considered as lack.

Chocolate Chic Olena- he is the son of Smart Chic Olena, and he is very talented and athletic. He is popular for having won both the Ltd Open NRA Derby and Non Pro in the same year. He has earned 165 AQHA points in his show career, is a 2-time USET Open Qualifier Champion, the 1999 AQHA World Champion, and a 4-time Reserve World Champion. He is on the list of the leading sires and his foals have earned over $1,000,000 since their first appearance in 2003.
Shiners Voodoo Dr- he`s one of the highest earning reining stallions. He has a dynamic athletic ability that has enabled him to reach the finals in every major event due to his amazing performances. All his foals are selected for Xtra Breeders` Futurity and NRHA Futurity with all earning lots money.
Wimpy Little Step- this is a Xtra Quarter Horses reining stallion who is an $8 million sire. He was inducted into the NHRA Hall of Fame in 2011 and 2015 he was the number 1 reining sire. He has major titles, including being the Champion in the 2002 NHRA Futurity Open and 2002 Congress Open Reining Futurity. Commandalena- a talented 21-year-old stallion who has achieved 45 wins in NHRA and AQHA classes.
